Re: Igor Onboard Computer Power Supply

Hi,

We use the latest available i3 Intel NUCs that we could get at the time. Your system most likely has a NUC8i3BEH NUC that has an Intel® Core™ i3-8109U Processor (4M Cache, up to 3.60 GHz). All of our systems we put in 8GB of ram and a 250GB Samsung SSD.

Thank you,

Re: cannot search IGOR device using Scope

Hello, If the IGOR robot has been thrashing around, falling over or running into things, there is a chance that one of the network cables has come out of one of the actuators. Because they are connected in series, if one of the cables comes undone it can cause a lot of the modules to drop out. Make ...

HEBI Kit Router Reconfiguration Basic Info

You are more than welcome to reconfigure the Mikrotik routers that we use in our kits to your needs if you feel comfortable doing so. However, it is hard to remotely support and reconfigure routers for customers so we generally don't set them up in custom configurations - we let our customers set th...

Re: Connet Lidar sensor for Igor

Hi,

Using a USB to Ethernet adapter will work fine in this situation and it should not have any negative effect on the actuators as it will be on a separate network.

Thank you,

Re: IMU Saturation

Hi Hans,

The IMUs in all of the modules are set to saturate at 2G acceleration and 2000 degrees/second rotational speed. I don't believe we expose this in the API.

The IMU in the module is either a TDK ICM-20602 or MPU-6500, which have similar specs.

Thanks,

Re: HEBI I/O Board (Rev C) - I2C and Digital IO Commands

Hi, One other note - the "analog" outputs are actually PWM outputs that run at 20Khz. To get an analog output, use a R-C low pass filter to remove the carrier frequency. Here is some general information about how this works: https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/technical-articles/low-pass-filter-a-pwm-s...

Re: Network topology discovery

Hi, There is not really an easy way to determine the order. The connected group functionality is specific to the snake modules - they have serial connections between each module in addition to the Ethernet connection. I know Dave has messed around with using the IMUs coupled with some amount of move...

Re: Actuator Reverse Polarity Protection

Hi,

Yes, both the actuators and IO boards have reverse protection.

Thanks for the question!

I/O Board GPIO Voltage Configuration

We recently had a question about configuring the GPIO voltage on the I/O Board. The I/O Board supports either a 5V or 3.3V GPIO voltage and it is configurable using a jumper near the power input connector. When the jumper is placed in the "3V3" position, the output voltages are at a 3.3V level and t...

M-Stop Electrical Specifications

There was a question recently about the electrical specifications for the m-stop input to the x-series actuators. The m-stop signal uses the two "extra" pairs of wires in the Ethernet connector. Using the standard wire color convention these wires are blue, white/blue, brown and white/brown. In the ...
